In my life and in my training, I have witnessed many approaches, traditions, and ideas for wedding ceremonies. Each ceremony is unique and deserves close attention to both the couple and who they are as individuals. I share with each couple that they can count on a day that is beautiful and special surrounded by given and chosen family and friends. A wedding ceremony is often times the first “big” event in one’s life; a day that you will be able to look back in time and reflect is meaning and great strength.
At times, it seems that everyone’s “hand” is in planning pot! And to some degree, some will have a sense of ownership depending on the varying degree of participation and contribution being made. The challenges of interweaving family cultures and heritage along with shared or diverse faith issues are often a concern for most couples, and families, I will help you navigate that journey.
As choices are made, having some degree of stress is guaranteed. Some choices are difficult, some are easy, and some may lead to “push/give” with family, friends, and with each other.
I wear many “hats” while serving you as your officiant/minister. My work in helping you co-author your ceremony will lead me to be a Producer, Director, Choreographer, Truth Teller, Teleprompter, and Stress Reduction Specialist so that you can star in this special time together as we celebrate your relationship. I am best known for my ability to bring comfort, peace, professionalism, and a sense of humor to the process of performing the ceremony; that warm blanket on a cool fall morning.
I understand that not everyone is part of a church or organized religion. I also understand that some do not have a faith based belief. Serving everyone without exception is more than a job… it is my life work! Whether the ceremony is just for the couple in a city park, our chapel room or in a back yard or in a large venue with hundreds of guests, I have been blessed to connect with the hearts and minds of those present. A ceremony is a statement of the relationship between the couple, their families and friends. It belongs to all of you, and I will help you co-author it each step of the way.
It takes a village to raise a child.
It takes a community to build a marriage.
Together you will form your relationship.
Together we can express the meaning of that relationship.
Your wedding ceremony deserves the best attention and heart.
It is your public statement of your personal experience of love.
